Why Social Media Consistency Beats Big Campaign Moments

Marketing team collaborating on a social media content calendar

Most brands come to us wanting a big campaign moment — a launch video, a viral push, a splashy reveal. And those have their place. But across 20+ brands and four countries, the accounts that grow fastest aren’t the ones with the biggest single moment. They’re the ones that show up consistently.

What consistency actually does

A steady posting rhythm does three things a one-off campaign can’t:

  • Trains the algorithm. Platforms reward accounts that post predictably, not accounts that spike once a quarter.
  • Builds recognition. Customers need to see a brand multiple times before they trust it. Consistency compounds that exposure.
  • De-risks the big moments. When you do run a major campaign, it lands on an audience that already knows you — not a cold one.

What this looks like in practice

For our Standard and Advanced retainer clients, this means 4–8 pieces of content a month, every month, rather than saving budget for a single quarterly push. It’s less exciting to plan, but it’s the difference between a brand people recognize and one they scroll past.

If you’re weighing a big campaign against a steady content plan, our advice is almost always: do both, but never let the big moment replace the rhythm.
